This tomato was not only delicious but beautiful as well. The high anthocyanins in 'Lucid Gem' are what give it its nice, chocolaty color. Chocolate shoulders give way to stunning red, orange, or yellow bottoms. This is a meaty tomato with very few seeds and a divine flavor. Sweet yet not too tart, this juicy variety continues producing all season long. It's an indeterminate tomato which means it sets fruit over a long period; even during the heat dome, this tomato did not succumb to the stress of the excessive heat.
I purchased this tomato at the master gardener plant sale which is known for providing rare and unique tomato varieties. I highly recommend trying 'Lucid Gem' next year.
